“The Lord told me…”
“I think God wants me to…”
“God’s called me to…”
Ever wonder what people of faith were talking about when they uttered phrases like this? Does God actually speak to people?
In Bill Hybels’ latest book, “The Power of a Whisper”, the founder and senior pastor of Willow Creek Community Church casts the vision for Christians to train themselves to listen to the “nudgings” or “whispers” from God.
This is a solid book from learning to have a ear like Samuel’s, how to know when you’re hearing from God, and two chapters that I especially learned from “Light for Dark Nights of the Soul” and “Promptings for Parenthood”.
Although this isn’t a “new” concept, this book is a good reminder of how and why God speaks to us and how he wants to interact in our lives.
I’m pleased to give away a copy of The Power of a Whisper. To enter, please leave a comment on this post with your name and state why you’d like to read this book. I’ll choose a name at random on Friday.
