The Theme of 2011? Tired.

We’re barely two weeks into the new year and I have one word that’s constantly cycling through my mind.

I’m tired.

I’m tired of fighting with this child to eat his dinner EVERY night.

I’m tired of eating this stuff every day in an effort to lose weight.

I’m tired of the gym and feeling like a hampster on a wheel going nowhere.

I’m tired of journaling about the same stuff over and over.  Tired of praying the same prayers.

It’s tempting to throw in the towel and give up.  But as I read over this list, Galatians comes to mind. Galatians 6:9 to be exact.

Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

I wish I could say that this verse has renewed my spirit and inspired me but that’s not where I’m at.  I’m still tired, but I’m reminded why I can’t give up.  So….I press on.

But I’m not happy about it. In fact, I feel quite robotic about it. So, I’d like to hear from you.

How do you find the mojo to keep fighting the good fight?

  1. I really wish I had a good answer for this. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again…I try to pick out the positives, the joy, in my life, but sometimes they are hard to find. And sometimes it just plain old doesn’t work. But forcing yourself to do so, is a good start. I’m praying for an extra amount of perseverance for you, and a bit of hope to keep you going. Love you friend!
