Imaginary Jesus-Book Review and Giveaway!

So imagine that you’re sitting in your favorite cafe and enjoying a meal with Jesus.  You’re sitting, eating, talking, hanging out when a total stranger comes up and punches Jesus right in the face!

Relax. It’s not the real Jesus.

Imaginary Jesus by Matt Mikalatos is the “not quite true” story of Matt and his realization that he wasn’t following the real Jesus. Mikalatos has written funny, fast paced book on his quest to find the real Jesus.

On his journey, he has to destroy all the Jesus imposters that are in his life like:

  • Magic 8 Ball Jesus
  • Legalistic Jesus
  • Perpetually Angry Jesus
  • Testosterone Jesus
  • King James Jesus

And that’s not even the full list.

I received this book from another blog, Mr. Shields, and had fully planned on keeping it but it’s too good to keep all to myself. Mikalatos challenged me on the different (and by different, I mean wrong) views I have of Jesus.  Views I didn’t even realize I had.

I’d love to give this book away. If you are wondering about Jesus, wondering who he is and what he isn’t, leave a comment on this blog. I’ll pick a name this Sunday and mail the book to you on Monday morning.

  1. I know a friend who read this book and she wasn’t able to put it down. She read it in two days! I’m not a big fan of Christian fiction, but I heard some really great things about this book. I’m excited to read this one. It seems like a very fun and entertaining way to put across a very serious point.

  2. Thought I would stop by look at this review. First , why does your blog look so much better than mine?

Second, thanks for this write-up. Since you probably shouldn’t send the author his own book back to him, sign me up. 🙂 It sounds like a fun read.
